Veracity is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) / Application Developer to support the ATO Cybersecurity Group at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is responsible for the full lifecycle design, development, and maintenance of Oracle-based database systems and web applications that support critical cybersecurity program activities, tools, and operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle database technologies, application development, and experience working within a government cybersecurity environment.

Essential Functions:

Database Administration

  • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database schemas including tables, triggers, stored procedures, packages, and scheduled jobs
  • Manage Oracle database replication environments, including multi-master Oracle Streams configurations across multiple nodes nationwide
  • Implement and maintain Oracle Advanced Queueing (AQ) for XML message processing and PL/SQL notification handling
  • Apply Oracle Flashback technology for deployment management and error recovery to ensure reliable software releases
  • Perform Oracle database upgrades, patching, and performance tuning
  • Develop and maintain automated database reload and replication scripts to support dev/test environment management

Application Development

  • Design and develop Oracle APEX web applications supporting cybersecurity program data management, including dashboards, reports, data entry screens, and file management interfaces
  • Develop and maintain Java applications for database operations, file extraction, and system integration tasks
  • Write and maintain PL/SQL code for data export, migration, and application logic
  • Develop Excel macros and scripts to consolidate and transform large datasets for database upload
  • Build role-based access controls and business rules into application layers to enforce security and data governance
  • Perform reverse engineering and rehosting of legacy applications with minimal documentation

Cybersecurity Tools Support

  • Support the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and testing of cybersecurity toolsets for the ATO Cybersecurity Group
  • Support development and integration of Asset Management and Cybersecurity Threat Modeling tools
  • Assist with the Archer Cybersecurity platform, including data migration, specification writing, and integration programming
  • Manage access to cybersecurity tools and data repositories in accordance with FAA, DOT, and organizational policies
  • Maintain and support online data repositories accessible only by authorized stakeholders

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as technical lead or senior contributor on database and application development projects
  • Collaborate closely with the federal lead and cybersecurity engineering management to align development efforts with program priorities
  • Provide technical guidance and training to other developers and DBAs on tools, processes, and best practices
  • Assist Linux administrators with system troubleshooting, particularly related to patching and application environments
  • Maintain development project management using tools such as Redmine or equivalent platforms
  • Create clear user documentation including step-by-step guides, screenshots, tables of figures, and tables of contents

Multiple Positions Available:

  • Mid to Senior Level (Level 3-Level 1): 10 – 20+ years of relevant experience

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related information technology field.
  • 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s Degree or MBA in related field may be substituted for bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience.
  • PhD in related field may be substituted for bachelor’s degree and 7 years’ experience.
