Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator (LCAT: ITS3 – OK GOV Site)
Job Overview:
The Enterprise Operational Support Environment (E-OSE) is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This individual will be responsible for managing and optimizing the E-OSE infrastructure, with a focus on Cisco networking, Linux environments, virtualization, and Windows administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for implementing cutting-edge technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Administration:
- Manage and optimize Cisco networking devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
- Implement and troubleshoot routing, switching, and VPN configurations.
- Monitor network performance, analyze issues, and provide proactive solutions.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure network security and performance.
- Linux Systems Administration:
- Administer and maintain Linux-based servers (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat, etc.).
- Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Linux system issues, including performance and security-related incidents.
- Scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python) for system management.
- Virtualization and Cloud:
- Manage and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Perform provisioning, monitoring, and management of virtual machines and containers.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery for virtualized systems.
- Windows Server Administration:
- Administer Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022) for both physical and virtualized platforms.
- Configure and maintain Active Directory, Group Policies, and DNS/DHCP services.
- Troubleshoot Windows OS issues and optimize system performance.
- Security:
- Implement and enforce security best practices across networking, server, and system environments.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and provide remediation plans.
- Collaborate with the security team to maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of systems configurations, network topologies, and procedures.
- Prepare and deliver reports on system performance, project status, and incidents.
Required Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise with Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, and security configurations.
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and Hyper-V).
- Proficient in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
