Veracity Engineering has an exciting opportunity for an Information Technology Specialist with FAA in Washington, DC or at the WJHTC, Atlantic City NJ. This position is responsible for support The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) NAS Security and Enterprise Operations (NASEO) (AJW-B) to minimize the impact of cyber security events or incidents in support of availability and restoration requirements for ATO systems and services. The FAA runs a multi-faceted cybersecurity program to protect the NAS in accordance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
Essential Functions:
- Provides expertise in compiling, arranging, storing and retrieval of information to facilitate support of the FAA customer, project, or program.
- Administers, evaluates, installs, maintains, and provides overall support for LANs and WANs.
- Designs, tests, and implements interface programs, develops security procedures, regulate usage, and maintain entire VMware Virtual Production VSphere – ESXi 6.7 and Development LAN environments. Works on hyperconverged infrastructure, VXRail solutions.
- Completes schema exports required for the test and development environments when those environments need to be refreshed per a release development plan, disaster recovery/COOP test, environment upgrade (hardware change, patches (UNIX, Oracle, Postgres, and SQL patches, etc. or testing. ports must be monitored by the development team Data Base administrator (DBA)Performs planning, cost analysis and all aspects of large-scale projects.
- Implements large scale LAN and WAN networks applications and troubleshoots problem areas which includes design, tests, building of servers, backup, networking, trouble shooting, and all operations.
- Coordinates network policy, procedures, and standards. Assists training of users.
Must Haves:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related information technology field.
- 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s Degree or MBA in related field may be substituted for bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience.
- PhD in related field may be substituted for bachelor’s degree and 7 years’ experience.
- Must have knowledge of VMware
- Experience with Hyperconverged systems such as Dell EMC VXRail, knowledge of VSAN
