Job Summary:

The Materiel Management Project Lead is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of materials and equipment lifecycle management across multiple FAA programs. This includes planning, tracking, coordination, and execution of materiel activities to support communication and infrastructure initiatives. The role requires a high level of coordination with engineers, regional managers, contractors, and logistics teams to ensure project milestones are met efficiently and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead materiel support efforts for FAA programs including ACL, RCE, CFS, MSP IS, ETR, MCT, UIS, NEXCOM MDR, UHF RR, and V2 Radio.
  • Manage the identification, storage, release, and tracking of equipment using the IFS/LCSS System.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IFS/LCSS implementation and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain tracking spreadsheets for requirements, assets, cost analysis, and inventory optimization.
  • Plan and execute barcoding processes for F&E equipment, coordinating freeze and unfreeze operations to minimize shipping delays.
  • Coordinate with regional Project Material Managers and site engineers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • Prepare and distribute documentation including FAA Forms 4650-12 and RMAs for returns and replacements.
  • Serve as the Personal Property Delegate responsible for maintaining asset records in the FAA FRAMES system.
  • Collaborate with transportation and logistics teams to ensure equipment returns and transfers are properly documented and executed.
  • Develop and deliver PowerPoint briefings and reports for leadership and national working groups (e.g., RDWG, NOWG).
  • Track project milestones, oversee vendor coordination, and provide input to budget analysts for material and service acquisition.
  • Review Site Requirement Forms (SRFs) against Equipment Release Requests (ERRs) to resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage and update a proactive reminder system to reduce expedited shipping costs by adhering to lead-time guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in materiel or logistics management in a federal or FAA environment preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience with IFS/LCSS or similar logistics systems.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing national item identification (NIIN) and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with FAA systems and documentation standards (e.g., FRAMES, 4650-12s, RMAs).
  • Experience coordinating hardware deployments across multiple regional facilities.
