Veracity Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Communications System Engineer in our Headquarters located in the heart of Washington, DC. This position will be responsible for supporting Veracity’s Federal Aviation Administration Air/Ground and Fiber Optic equipment acquisition and implementation contracts. 2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review Air/Ground radio and telco acquisition documents to ensures that training requirements are addressed and are specific to system maintenance philosophies.
- Coordinate with FAA stakeholders and possible Academia to ensure that proper documents and learning tools are available.
- Review acquisition documents from the FAA policy perspective and ensure proper wording and orders are included.
- Support the development of acquisition schedules to ensure proper placement of training activities and timing for those activities is provided.
- Provide guidance to other programs on what type of training and training material is required for a specific program to move forward.
- Support the preparation of training material when required. (Presentations, operation & maintenance manuals, etc.).
- At time oversee training activities with FAA training staff.
- Ensure that follow up on training program are prepared and available.
3. Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science.
Experience
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of communication system engineering experience specifically with FAA radio and telco equipment.
- Knowledge of FAA current training techniques, FAA Training orders, required certification for communication equipment and equipment training requirements.
- Subject Matter Expert on FAA training.
- Knowledge of FAA communication radio and telco equipment.
- Ability to address FAA training needs required by different communication equipment types.
- Outstanding communication skills and comfortable speaking to crowds.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
